2011 Maori Touch NZ National Tournament
Maori Touch NZ is pleased to announce that Maori TV and Auahi Kore are supporting the 2011 Maori Touch National tournament. It's not far away. It's happening again at Hopuhopu Sport Complex, Ngaruawahia on the 3rd and 4th of December. Get your intent of entries into Sue Panapa as soon as you can.
Intent of Entry
Intent of Entries are now being called for from Iwi, Hapu, Waka and Takiwa organisations that wish to enter teams in the following grades,
- Hanumi Pakeke - Senior Mixed (male over 30yr & female over 30yr).
- Tane - Open Male. Wahine - Open Female. Hanumi - Open Mixed.
- Tamatane U21 - U21 Male. Tamahine U21 - U21 Female. Hanumi U21 - U21 Mixed.
- Taitamatane U16 - U16 Male. Taitamawahine U21 - U16 Female.

Accommodation
There will be no accommodation at Hopuhopu due to demolition and construction work happening at the venue. You will need to contact local marae for your accommodation needs. To view a list of marae in Tainui click here.
Final Payment Date
Final payment date for all tournament entry fees is 21st of November 2011 – No exceptions made.
Referees
Referees are encouraged to register with Finney Davis finney.davis@hotmail.com for this year’s national tournament. As a pre-requisite to be selected to ref at the World Indigenous tournament.
The Referee Application Form can be downloaded from the Maori Touch NZ Tournament page. Coaching and Assessment of referees will be co-ordinated by the Maori Touch New Zealand Referees Panel, with opportunity of Referee upgrading.
Selectors
You are invited to select at this years national tournament. Do you have good knowledge of the game and playing rules? Do you have experience with the game of touch? If this is you then pack your boots and get off to Hopuhopu. Register your name by contacting Maria Paenga on maria.paenga@twoa.ac.nz.
Representatives Meeting
A meeting for all Iwi, Hapu, Waka & Takiwa representatives will be held at 7pm, in the Administration Building, Hopuhopu on Friday 2nd December.
Po Whakangahau
The Po Whakangahau is a great evening where all team perform kapa haka, waiata and generally have a great time. So get practicing because the performances are hot! We will be looking forward to seeing your kapa haka bracket.
MTNZ tournament selections
Teams to be selected at the Maori Touch Nationals will be advised.
